Summary
On the first floor of the Great Staircase, overlooking the Pebble Court there is a two-light window with two internal ferrous stanchions per light.The window is glazed in rectangular quarry glazing in 5/16” flat section leads. The glass is a pleasing mix of crown glass, broad glass and early broad glass, probably 17thC. There are internal ferrous horizontal glazing bars of the ‘knock-in’ type at every quarry line, 7 per light. The glazed panels are securely tied to these with copper ties. The right hand light has a side hung ferrous opening casement hung on pintel type hinges, probably 17th C. The window is set into a timber frame.
