Summary
A mahogany and cane library or reading armchair, English, circa 1830. Having a moulded rectangular back lined with cane and cane-filled sides beneath padded arms on in-curved moulded arm supports. With plain seat rails and raised a pair of turned and reeded front supports and square-section rear legs, fitted with brass caps and castors. The right proper arm fitted with a gilt brass socket, probably for a reading stand, now lacking.
