Full description
English flintlock trap or spring gun, circa 1810. Used on country estates to discourage poachers or trespassers. Barrel: Round iron barrel with belled muzzle. Barrel length 40cm Diameter at muzzle 25mm. Wooden stock made in 2-pieces which encases the barrel and is held together with iron bands. The underside of the stock has an iron swivel mounting peg for placing into the ground and trigger-bar release. Flintlock of English military form, with ring-neck cock and 2 fixing screws. Overall length 58.5cm
