A set of oak library steps, English, late 19th/early 20th century. Of four treads, and with an extended upright handrail. With simple edge line-carving.
Provenance
Date of introduction to Canons Ashby not recorded, but in the house by 1980 when purchased by the National Trust in the sale of the contents of the house held by Berry Bros. of Brackley [Lot 450, £320] on 3 July 1980 where described as '4 Tread oak library steps with steadying bar'.
