Summary
This stained glass 'Percy and Poynings' escutcheon is one of nine stained glass escutcheons in the east window of the chapel commemorating the descent of the Percy's and arranged in three rows of three. It is described as - Percy (modern) and Lucy quarterly, quartering Percy (ancient) impaling, Quarterly, I and 4, Barry or and vert, over all a bend gules (for Poynings). 2, Gules three lions passant in pale argent, over all a bend azure (for FitzPayn). 3, Or three piles meeting near the fess point azure (for Bryan). Enclosed in a square cartouche.
