Full description
General Remarks: Double barrelled breech loading shotgun by Edwin Ladmore, Hereford (active 1841-70). Round side-by-side barrels joined by an upper and lower rib and hinged to steel receiver. The barrels are of Damascus twist construction with a bead foresight, and the breech incorporates an automatic cartridge extractor which is activated when the barrel tips forward for loading. Engraved steel receiver with a long breech tang, an exposed firing pin assemblies and incorporating a rotating barrel release lever formed to fit around the trigger guard. Short walnut forestock, chequered, with small horn cap, and retained by one barrel slide. Barrel Length: 76cm. Calibre: 18.5mm centre-fire (12 bore). Stock: Walnut butt with chequered wrist. Steel trigger guard and butt plate. Double triggers. Lock: Engraved back-action right and left-hand hammer locks (hammers missing), signed Edwin Ladmore. Retained to the stock by 2 side nails.
