Summary
Photograph - Aerofilms ?1956 A89908 and another taken lower and from further North. Neither are remotely useful to compare and consider Kip's perspective, being too high and not alligned. All air photographers went up without any brief from the Trust for this basic requirement! Bare West garden, silted ponds, tennis court bottom right with Macrocarpa, was levelled and buried after 1965 - and the area later replanted as orchard of old perry pears. Note pidgeon house ruin before restoration and encorporation with Butler's Cottage in 1965, renamed Hinds Cottage by Colonel and Mrs Grinling, when the Trust agreed to allign the boundary. Both the tall tree by the side of path and the sundial by the tennis court have been removed since 1949. Pair of urns removed from terrace, fencing in park removed.
