Portrait miniature, watercolour painting on ivory, Isabella Pye, Mrs George William Blathwayt, by Sir William Charles Ross, RA (London 1794 – London 1860). 1823. Rectangular. Half-length portrait of a woman, turned slightly to the right, gazing at the spectator, in a blue dress with brooch and white lace, crimson shawl, white lace hat and bow-tie. Light blue eyes, curly brown hair, fresh complexion. Light brown background. Parents of Col. G. W. B. Inscribed on reverse - Isabella Blathwayt taken by Sir W. Ross 1823, nee Pye.
Provenance
Indigenous collection purchased by Ministry of Works in 1954 and given to Dyrham Park in 1961.
