Portrait miniature, watercolour painting on ivory, Captain George William Blathwayt (1824-1899) as a Cornet, by Charles Ford (Bath 1801 – Bath 1870). 1841. Oval. Head and shoulders portrait of a young man, turned slightly to the left, gazing at the spectator, in the uniform of the 1st (The King's) Regiment of Dragoon Guards (red, gold epaulettes, gold sword-belt). Grey eyes, fair hair brushed forward, pink complexion, aged about 17. Sky background. Captain George William Blathwayt (1824-1899). As a cornet in the Kings Dragoon Guards, aged 17. Eldest son of Lt. Col. G.W.B.and Marianne Vesey. M. Charlotte Amelia Baker 1856. (Marked on card old no DYR.D.6). Inscribed on backing paper - C. Ford pinxt. 20 New Bond St., Bath. Apl 16 1841.
