Summary
Sword; Cavalry sword - George III cavalry sabre with deeply curved, etched and engraved blade. Hilt end gilded and fire blued. Warranted marked with GR and crown. Knuckle guard gilded and with lion's head. Suspension ring (or tassel ring) and wooden wire-wound grip. Curved leather scabbard with brass mounts and two suspension rings. 1803 (circa).
Provenance
Indigenous collection purchased by Ministry of Works in 1956 and given to Dyrham Park in 1961
