Summary
Chest. An oak, clamp front chest with two internal knife drawers and working lock, to store side-table table wares. Painted red with green mouldings to the front, in linseed paints. Based on an example sold at Sotherby's in March 2002, with references to chests at Llanfillo, Breconshire and elsewhere.
Provenance
This piece was made by Paul Northwood, Llangunllo Powys in 2011-2012. The furniture and fittings were commissioned especially for the Tudor Merchant’s House by Dr Charles Kightly.
