Summary
Table. An oak trestle table. The top is made from two trapezoid shaped boards, with oak battens to house the trestles, which when erected can be secured to the top by the removable pegs (not true to the historical form but an addition to ensure the top does not tip when leaned upon). The trestles have cleft oak legs. Finished with linseed oil.
Provenance
This piece was made by Paul Northwood, Llangunllo Powys in 2011. The furniture and fittings were commissioned especially for the Tudor Merchant’s House by Dr Charles Kightly.
