Summary
Jug, ironstone china, octagonal form with flat base, slightly flaring neck and spout, and crabstock handle, G.M. & C.J. Mason, Lane Delph, Stoke-on-Trent, ca 1820-29; transfer printed over the body with a repeating scale pattern with orange enamel ground colour, with groups of stylised chinoiserie figures outside a pagoda in overglaze polychrome enamels within a rococo scrolling cartouche (all transfer printed), the handle coloured in green glaze, the beck with stylised leaves, band of repeating flower heads at rim, overpainted with orange enamel.
