Summary
Bowl, ironstone china, scalloped rim and foot, open form, probably Minton & Boyle, Stoke-on-Trent,Staffordshire, ca 1843-40; decorated with the 'Amherst Japan' pattern which is transfer printed in blue under the glaze, with hand-painted coloured enamels in orange and blue, at the bottom of the bowl are oversized blooms in a blue bowl with large leaves at the base, from which floral vines with blue and orange flowers issue, with a stylised garden pagoda to the left, the above encircled with an alternating circular border pattern, at the interior rim and exterior body are evenly spaced flowers with large blue leaves, alternating with areas of finer foliage on light underglaze blue stems.
