Summary
Limestone on limestone base, flower nymph, 19th century. A limestone statue of a nymph mounted on a sloping limestone base hewn to look like rock. Drapery covers the lower half of the nymph's body; she is entwined with garlands of flowers which suggests she is an anthusae or flower nymph. Her gaze is cast downward to bottom right. The limestone is fine-grained and may be French, possibly Lepine or Caen. Alice Rylance-Watson October 2018
