Summary
One of four circular salt cellars, without a liner, standing on three lions mask and paw feet with applied festoons of shells between spreading fluted border. Engraved beneath the base with the Brownlow and Cust crests and coronet. Maker Robert Garrard and dated 1826. One of four small spoons, with shell end and engraved with the Brownlow crest. circa 1810.
Provenance
Acquired by purchase from Lord Brownlow with grants from the National Heritage Memorial Fund in January 1984.
