Three-quarter-length portrait, seated to right, gazing at the spectator, in a red-upholstered armchair, holding a gold locket in his left hand and wearing a dark blue coat and buff breeches. Brown eyes, black hair and side whiskers, aged about 25 to 30. Trees in right background.
