Summary
One of a set of eight cast iron and painted oak garden benches, probably by Coalbrookdale 'Serpent and Grape pattern' English, late 19th century. Later painted with dog head arm terminals and paw feet, vine and snake motifs fill the side supports.
Provenance
Purchased with a grant from the National Heritage Memorial Fund (NHMF) from Edward John Peregrine Cust, 7th Baron Brownlow (b.1936) in 1984.
