Watercolour on white paper, mounted on card, Woman's Head and Bobbin by Louisa Anne Stuart, Marchioness of Waterford (Paris 1818 – Ford 1891), after 1870. Inscribed, bottom right in pen: by Louisa, Marchioness of Waterford. A small piece of delicate work, showing a girl's head and shoulders, in partial left profile. Before her face is a bobbin. She wears a red dress with a black collar, there are remarkably red tones in the skin as well. The eyes and the mouth are light brown. The bobbin and hair are the same tan and yellow shades. Blue background.
