Summary
Watercolour on paper, Woman with sunflowers by Louisa Anne Stuart, Marchioness of Waterford (Paris 1818 – Ford 1891). A woman, standing, shown full length and turned to her left. Her left arm is raised at the elbow, in it she holds the stem of a sunflower near its head, in the other hand she takes the stem of another sunflower, leaning before her. Her head is bowed, looking at the flower head. To the woman's right, two long stalks with flower heads and big dark green leaves spray across into the right side of the picture. The background is dark green shading on the right side, lighter yellow and brown on the left. Above this again are the leafy lower boughs of a tree. Date - 1870-85.
