Water-colour on stiff ivory paper, Virgin and Child by Louisa Anne Stuart, Marchioness of Waterford (Paris 1818 – Ford 1891). A woman and child, centre. The woman, on the right, is full length and turned to her right, although not in full profile. The child approaches from the left, he has raised his arms to take hers by the middle of the forearm, his body leans against hers, and his head is tilted into the picture. As the woman looks down to the child, she shows her left profile. Date - post 1870.
