Watercolour with bodycolour over pencil on ivory paper, The Good Samaritan by Louisa Anne Stuart, Marchioness of Waterford (Paris 1818 – Ford 1891). (Found in small folder.) Description - Centre foreground, a half naked man being helped to get up by another from behind. Centre Middle-ground a horse grazes. The background is a wooded glade. The picture only covers two thirds of the paper area. Back - three sketches - a man being helped to sit up, a man descending from a horse, a further male figure. Biblical Reference - Luke 10, v.29 -37. Literature - Augustus Hare notes a picture by this title in a list of works by Louisa WaterfordTNL, vol. III, pp.200, 215.
