Summary
Pen and Brown Ink and pencil on thin cream paper, The Raising of Jairus's Daughter by Louisa Anne Stuart, Marchioness of Waterford (Paris 1818 – Ford 1891). Description - Along centre middle ground stands an ornate bed on a carved base. On it lies a figure. Christ stands on the near side, facing to the right of the picture. He takes the girl's near hand, and raises his right arm to point skywards. At the head of the bed a woman croucheson the far side, a man is hunched over, clasping his hands in distress. Two further kneeling figures, Peter and James are positioned at the foot end of the bed. In the right background is a large curtain, and in the centre three arches.
