Summary
Water-colour on stiff white paper, Christ in the wilderness or the Mount of Olives by Louisa Anne Stuart, Marchioness of Waterford (Paris 1818 – Ford 1891). Description - Left foreground, a figure kneeling on brown earth, he holding his hands outas he appeals skywards, in posture of prayer. In the Background are great blue mountains, and a strange sky with green streaks. Biblical Reference - Possibly Call to Disciples - Luke 6 - 12- 16, or Mount of Olives, Jesus's Struggle with God's Will - Luke 22 - 39-44. Date - post 1860
