One of two ink and wash drawings by G.A.Lowe,1857 of elevation of fire plugs. a) Shows the fire plug etc. fixed at the same depth as old main viz. 6' 6' below the ground. b) shows the ' fire plug fixed to the main at the depth of 2' below ground line'.
