Summary
Six lithographs and title page for, 'Sketches in Scrublands Garden'. 'The Brownlow Scrubland Gardens' by The Hon. Lucy Anna Maria Cust, The Hon. Mrs John Storrs (1853-1923). 433955.1-6 also by Lucy Cust. Shrubland Hall, Barnham, Suffolk was formerly the residence of Sir William Fowle Middleton, 2nd Baronet (1748-1860). He bought the hall in 1788. Middleton was the husband of the Hon. Anne Cust,(d.1867) who was the daughter of Sir Brownlow Cust (1744-1807) and Frances Bankes (1856-1847). Sir William commissioned Sir Charles Barry (1795-1860) to remodel the Hall and create the terrace gardens (1849-1855). The parkland was styled by Humphry Repton (1752-1818). The Hon. Lucy Anna Maria Cust was the daughter of Henry Frederick Cockayne Cust (1819-1884) and Sara Jane Cookson (d.1867). Lucy married the Very Rev. John Storrs (d.1928)
