Summary
Patty pan, porcelain, round with curved and everting sides, made in Jingdezhen, Jiangxi Province, China, c. 1750, decorated in underglaze blue with landscape scenery around the exterior, a band around the interior rim and a motif in the centre.

Patty pans were used for baking pastry dishes and tended to be sold in sets. ‘3 patty pans’ are listed under no. 49 in the 1754 Belton inventory (‘An Inventory of the Household goods, plate, China, Pewter &c. of the Right Honourable John Lord Viscount Tyrconnel at Belton, April 2 1754’).
