Summary
Pair of vases, porcelain, of square section and baluster shape, with a pair of dragon-shaped handles along the neck, made in Jingdezhen, Jiangxi Province, China, Kangxi period (1662–1722), c. 1690, decorated in underglaze blue with vignettes of peonies and lotus, with a band of upward-pointing stylised lotus petals around the base and a similar band of downward-pointing petals around the shoulders, an artemisia leaf mark on the base, the handles left unglazed for gilding in Europe.
