Summary

Tan coloured seal attached by red cord to letters patent on vellum (a) dated 22nd August 1876, appointing Disraeli Keeper of the Privy Seal. Exterior of letters patent inscribed 'Dated 22nd August 1876/ Grant/unto/ The Right Honorable Benjamin Disraeli/ of the office of/ Keeper of the Privy Seal'. In black leather-bound box, the lid with Royal arms in gold and inscription 'Her Majesty's/ Patent'. Box lined with green patterned design (b). Seal is cracked.
