Summary

Tan coloured seal attached by red cord to letters patent on vellum dated March 16th 1858, appointing Disraeli Chancellor of the Exchequer. Seal in black circular tin with lid. All within black leather-bound box with hinged lid. Royal arms in gold on lid and interior with green patterned lining. Seal cracked in two. One hinge of leather box broken.
