Summary
A verre eglomise framed embroidery pole screen, English, circa 1830. The glazed frame with re-entrant corners and embroidered panel depicting the biblical story of Elijah being fed by ravens in the wilderness, the embroidery in ivory silk satin backed with linen, the highlights of the sky, face, hands and feet of Elijah are painted, on a pole with bulbous knop and mahogany tripod base with carved knees and pointed pad feet.
