Summary
A mahogany half-tester bed, English, circa 1860. Hung with braided red-striped drapes and pelmet, the upper section with moulded cornice and drop finials, concealed plain posts and head-board, the foot-board cartouche-shaped and with central dark-stained panel, flanked by octagonal posts with large pointed finials, the flattened bun feet concealing lignum vitae castors, fitted with a box-spring.
