Summary
[CONSERVATION HOLDING RECORD] Rosewood rectangular tea caddy with brass hinge in lid. Forms one half of a pair of tea caddies that are held within a rosewood teapoy, English, circa 1825. Gadrooned detail throughout, the canted rectangular top opening to reveal a pair of tea caddies, a glass container and another empty velvet-lined compartment, the lock stamped GR PATENT below a crown, raised on a column profusely carved with acanthus leaf and studded or gadrooned collars, the concave-sided platform base with winged squat legs and paw feet.
