Summary
Pencil and wash on paper, Ephraim Lindo (1763-1858) by Daniel Maclise (Cork 1806 - London 1870). Signed 'Daniel Maclise March 1829'. Three-quarter length portrait, seated in chair with cane sides, full face, looking to his right. In gilded wood frame moulded with foliage in corners. Mount with gilt edges, glazed. Damage to bottom left corner of frame. Part of a set of five portraits of Ephraim Lindo and his four children (see NT/HUG/D/230-4). Ephraim Lindo was married to Sarah Basevi, the sister of Maria Basevi. Maria was the wife of Isaac D'Israeli.
