Summary
Oak pedestal desk, c. 1850. Central drawer; four cupboard panelled with diagonal boarding within chamfered framing, the corners inlaid with quatrefoils; green leather top. The desk is said to have come from Ruskin's study at Brantwood. The matching chair, which does not belong to the National Trust, is also displayed with the desk.
Provenance
Bequeathed to the National Trust by Canon Rawnsley in 1920; on loan to Brantwood since the death of his widow in 1959.
