Summary
One of a pair of handled dishes with interior plates and domed tops finished with finial knobs. Both lids are engraved with the Vernon crest and motto and also with the Vernon shield. The domes are marked in six sections. The inner plate is hallmarked, as are the domes, London 1857. In addition the inner plate carries the maker's mark C.F. Hancock, 39 Bruton Street, London. The bottom dish is Sheffield plate. Each dish stands on four feet.
