Summary
One of a set of eight plates in bone china with rope pattern borders, each painted with a different flower in the centre. Marks; diamond shaped patent marked impressed and mark 'P' also impressed, and 'J' impressed. Enamelled marks A651 in red. On some pieces impressed mark in addition. Almost certainly Minton, in which case the impressed J equals January and the impressed sign like a letter Q is the year cypher for 1856; the date when the piece could have been made, but not necessarily decorated. The prefix A was introduced before the pattern numbers after 1850. Second shelf, right.
