Summary
An oak altar table with elaborate carvings, ivory columns, and gilded decoration. Made by James Forsyth, circa 1875, to a design by Arthur Blomfield. The three carved front panels depict a sheep flanked by two angels. The sides are carved with the letters "A" and "O", representing the first and last letters of the Greek alphabet. The top surface has small inlaid crosses in the centre and at each corner.
