Provenance
Part of the N Hill collection. Donated to the National Trust by Mrs Valerie Minns (daughter of N Hill) in 2017.
Marks and inscriptions
Inside and outside.: Inside: some rusting; trapped on the rim is a small torn triangular piece of paper (10mm x 8mm); on reverse hand-written in blue/black ink '1945'. Outside: completely encircling the drum/sleeve is the John Players multi-coloured printed label: JOHN PLAYER'S NAVY CUT ,"MEDIUM". there are several small illustrations and a full description of the contents. In slightly worn but otherwise good condition apart from a c.20mm x 10mm torn off patch at bottom.
