Summary
Textile Box 57. A black bicorne hat with two different wide black ribbons, front decorated with large gold work motif, small gold colour tassels at corners, crown lined with pink/crimson silk. Part of the uniform of the Royal Company of Archers, the Soveriegn's ceremonial bodyguard in Scotland. Circa early 19th century. BL89.3*
Provenance
Part of the Lothian Collection. The Hall and contents were bequeathed to the National Trust in 1940 by Philip, 11th Marquess of Lothian (1882-1940).
