Summary
Two square covered glass inkwells. English, early 20th Century. Thick and heavy moulded square bodies with bevelled edges, short raised necks above the rounded ink compartments. With smaller square lids with cut circles on the undersides for insertion over the necks of the inkwells. Similar in design to smaller inkwells BLI/G/28 and BLI/G/4.
Provenance
Part of the Lothian Collection. The Hall and contents were bequeathed to the National Trust in 1940 by Philip, 11th Marquess of Lothian (1882-1940).
