Summary
A joined oak backstool, English, part late 17th century. The carved top rail above baluster turned supports with twist turned columns and scroll carved panels, the solid seat on baluster turned legs tied by stretchers. Alterations to the construction.
Provenance
Part of the Lothian Collection. The hall and contents were bequeathed to the National Trust by Philip, 11th Marquess of Lothian (1882-1940).
