Summary
An upholstered linen headboard for a bed, English, circa 1880. Same linen twill as on borders of crewelwork curtains. Two bands of blue, brown, green and cream-coloured woven wool braid, 15mm width, running parallel to each other. Reverse of headboard is possibly a cotton sateen, yellow ochre-coloured.
Provenance
Part of the Lothian Collection. The hall and contents were bequeathed to the National Trust in 1940 by Philip, 11th Marquess of Lothian (1882-1940)
