Piano. Kirkman. Circa 1820. Banded top and sides, with egg and tongue moulding on lower edge. 4 mahogany bulbous turned and reeded legs on castors. 3 decorative brass mask mounts around body. Lyre-shaped pedal support. Sliding music stand. Brass plaque above keyboard 'Joseph Kirkman, Maker to his Majesty, No.19 Broad Street, Golden Square, London'.
Provenance
Part of the Lothian Collection. The hall and contents were bequeathed to the National Trust by Philip, 11th Marquess of Lothian (1882-1940).
