Summary
One of a set of five oak high back chairs, English, late 19th century, 17th century style. With a carved and pierced back with central caned panel flanked by twist turned baluster upright supports surmounted by finials. The caned seat on conforming legs tied by a carved front stretcher and further twist turned baluster stretchers.
Provenance
Part of the Lothian Collection. The hall and contents were bequeathed to the National Trust by Philip, 11th Marquess of Lothian (1882-1940).
