Summary
Slop bucket. Minton. Earthenware (ironstone). White, painted in green enamels with a Chinese border and crowned interlaced L's monogram for Lothian. Impressed 'BB' (Best Body) and 'New Stone' for Minton, Stoke-on-Trent, c. 1840-60. Green foliage around rim and base, and green line outlining both handles and rim. Probably made for the 8th Marquess of Lothian, who married in 1854.
