Summary
Cachepot or jardiniere. John Rose and Co, Coalport, Shropshire, c.1810. Scene of classical women sacrificing on a chocolate ground with salmon pink and gilt anthemion borders. Soft-paste porcelain, painted with classical figures in silhouette on a brown monochrome ground.
Provenance
Part of the Lothian Collection. The hall and contents were bequeathed to the National Trust by Philip, 11th Marquess of Lothian (1882-1940).
