Frame, made from steamed pearwood, inscribed: '1353 Marriage . William Edgcumbe to Hilaria de Cotehele . 1483 Treachery . Richard rebelled but escaped his arrest'. This item was commissioned to frame 'Strands of Time I: Medieval Cotehele'; the first in a series of four planned embroideries, each of which will depict a different era (or eras) in Cotehele's history. Refer to item 349379 for more information. The purchase of the frame was generously supported by the Plymouth National Trust Centre.
