Summary
Music manuscript book bound in red leather with gilded embossed lettering: "Lady Ernestine Edgcumbe". 231 pages of handwritten music scores (170 individual compositions) and lyrics where applicable, many annotated with personal comments. The earliest date inscribed by a piece of copied music is December 1865, and the latest was September 1903. Amongst them are two versions of 'Trelawny', and a duet composed by Caroline, Ernestine's mother, possibly for them to play together.

Music manuscript book bound in red leather with gilded embossed lettering: "Lady Ernestine Edgcumbe". 231 pages of handwritten music scores (170 individual compositions) and lyrics where applicable, many annotated with personal comments. The earliest date inscribed by a piece of copied music is December 1865, and the latest was September 1903. Found on e-bay by Cotehele volunteer Jane Evans, and paid for by her. The cost including postage was £68.11. The seller (in Scotland) was contacted with a query about provenance, but no response was forthcoming.
