Summary

Regency sewing box may have been a thirteenth birthday gift to Caroline Augusta Feilding (1808-81) from her mother, Lady Elisabeth Feilding or from her French governess, Amelina Petit de Billier. It contains a lock of hair wrapped in paper, labelled in ink; 'Cut off for Caroline on her birthday 22 Janvier 1821.' (SR for sport and recreation).
